877 Workshop
We make cool shit with old tools. Handcrafted jewelry and goods from Hamburg.
877 Workshop is a husband-and-wife operation in Hamburg run by Sylvia and Daniel Janssen since 2012. Their motto — 'We make cool shit with old tools' — is accurate. They handcraft jewelry, lighters, and accessories using techniques most manufacturers abandoned decades ago: sand casting, hand engraving, vitreous enameling, forging. The materials are serious — 14-carat gold, 925 sterling silver, solid brass. No plating, no shortcuts. They own over 700 hand-engraved die forms from 1910 sourced from Pforzheim, Germany's historic jewelry capital, and work on a lathe from 1928. The aesthetic sits between vintage Americana and European craft tradition. Rings, bracelets, necklaces, and their signature lighters all carry visible evidence of being made by hand. They also carry curated vintage denim — Levi's 501s and selvedge pieces. For anyone who values objects with provenance and process over mass-produced polish, 877 Workshop makes things that feel like they've already lived a life.
